We've been tidying and organizing and planning for this brand new year. We're counting bottles, cans, boxes, & merch during Inventory this Monday, January 26th (it must be done!). Regular Friday tastings will resume on January 30th, 5-7 pm. Our Dahling Bundle this month is a Cold Weather Remedy Cocktail Kit (!). We have a promotion running through the 31st (10% off 6+ Btls, 15% off 12+)- come by in person or shop online!
As always, we're exploring and welcoming delicious, well-made wines (and spirits, yay!) from real people and supplied by our trusted, passionate, hard-working import and distribution pals (like this light-as-a-feather, bone dry Alsatian Riesling, this unexpected little Muscadet Rouge, and this plush, fragrant, perfect pairing for Chinese/Thai/Indian takeout.
Our January window features lyrics from a Bing Crosby song about possibilities and aspirations that felt whimsical and just right for this time of year when we begin again…"Would you like to swing on a star?…"
We're game; we hope you are, too. We'll see you at the shop!

We're excited to share this Dahling Bundles first-ever cocktail kit!
It's a Cold-Weather Remedy medley that will keep you cozy, cheery, and well during these rather chilly months.

Barbera d'Alba Superiore "Boschi" 2012 Dante Rivetti

Barbera can be a a playful, fruity grape of northwest Italy. When it comes from a particular clay-rich area of Piemonte called Alba, it shows up in a bolder, stronger, more age-worthy profile. Dante Rivetti's expression from the calcareous, clayey marl soil-rich plot of Boschi in Barbaresco's Neive is all that, with gravitas. It is dark, brooding, handsome, structured, yet velvety enough to be enjoyed within 15 minutes of pulling the cork. There are the wines with some years on them that we get excited about and this is one of them. It doesn't have to be a strain on the wallet, or decades-old, or come from a nearly-impossible-to-attain cru to be generous and intriguing (though we admire those, too!). Under-the-radar, unexpected, yet proven stunners have our attention and it's our pleasure to share them with you!
