100% Prugnolo Gentile, the clone of sangiovese used in Montepulciano, Tuscany.  We like to think of it as the "softer side of sangiovese".

The fermentation was spontaneous. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration on the skins lasted up to 30 days, depending on the individual lots. Following fermentation by native yeast, the wine rested on skins for a period of extended maceration. It was aged for 18 months: 80% in barriques, 20% in large barrels.
