Tuscany’s Chianti Classico region- specifically in the Conca d’Oro Valley of Panzano- named for its “golden slopes” of cereal grains. Maurizia and Luca have successfully encouraged just about all of the producers in Panzano to convert their practices to organic and biodynamic farming as well.

Vines grown completely naturally, grapes vinified in concrete tanks and aged in large French oak barriques for a little over one year.

WHY

Maurizia and Luca’s father was dedicated to making quality wines that would last on the land that their family has lived on for many generations. He began the tradition of single vineyard wines- D’Alceo and Sammarco- that Rampolla has become known for. It is not exaggerating to say that Maurizia lives for her land and her vines. She seemingly knows the personality and quirks of every inch of her property and has not missed a harvest since she was an adolescent.
