Gerhard had to take over his family vineyards unexpectedly after the early loss of his father. He and his wife Brigitte sought out experimental methods of showing the most pure and living examples of their land.
Harvest and sorting are done by hand, fermentation using natural yeasts, and aging in neutral barrique for 8 months- each variety separately- some with whole berries, some skin contact, some with no skin at all.
