We started the year with a window quote from I Heart Huckabee's, “Everything is Connected”…and it is! ("Well, you wouldn't want to miss out on the big picture, would ya?"). Stress can restrict blood flow and cause a backache. An act of kindness can spark a domino effect of goodness. It really is all connected. 

 

In the same vein, we pulled out an old favorite this month (from one of the most resonant strummers of all time) , “If you're after getting the honey, then you don't go killing all the bees.” 

 

We're taking the bee part literally and talking about biodiversity. We aim to tread gently on this earth and to fill our shelves with producers who do the same- producers who regard the vineyard as a living organism, who cultivate (rather than mess with) the harmony of its diverse elements - soil, plants, animals, people, culture, spirit. They plant fava beans amongst vineyard rows to create nitrogen, encourage high-growing grass between vines where bugs and flowers and healthy weeds buzz about. They invite life, in all its messy, inconvenient, satisfying goodness. They try not to overwhelm soil, stripping it of its breath. They work hard and often produce quite little…which is a pretty good thing because their wines are real- you can taste it and feel it. 

 

With all this in mind…the Sixth Edition of our Dahling Wine Bundle is out. It's Captain Planet-Themed….we're 90s Dorks…also, those kids really came together and got stuff done. You know…teams win!
