You know Torre dei Beati from their Montepulciano and Pecorino — the same certified organic estate run by Fausto Albanesi and Adriana Galasso in Loreto Aprutino, on the hills between the Adriatic Sea and the Gran Sasso mountains. Founded in 1999, named after a detail in a 14th century fresco. Everything hand harvested, native yeasts, minimal intervention.
The "Diverto" is their Trebbiano d'Abruzzo — "diverto" meaning "I entertain" or "I amuse" in Italian, and this wine earns the name. Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is a different and far more serious grape than the generic Trebbiano Toscano found across Italy — it produces wines of real texture, depth, and longevity when farmed and made properly. Fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts, aged on the lees to build body and complexity. Pale gold, crisp green apple, citrus peel, white flowers, a saline mineral quality that comes straight from the limestone and clay soils, and a clean long finish. Fresh enough to open now, structured enough to age a few years more. Serve cold with seafood, white fish, pasta with clams, or soft cheeses.
