ABOUT
Sauternes is a place in Graves, Bordeaux and also the name of the aromatically glorious wine that is made there. It's a blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes that have developed botrytis or noble rot, which occurs in particular micro-climates, and not consistently every vintage. It's kind of like sweet, golden lightning striking. The estate has a long history of Sauternes production and has turned hands many times. It is currently owned by the Rothschild family who, we hear, are taking very good care of it
