Nebbiolo, locally called Chiavennasca. “Nettare” means “nectar” and refers to the freshness and drinkability of Tenuta Scersce’s youngest wine.
The high slopes of Valtellina in Lombardia’s Italian Swiss Alps, specifically around 700 meter above sea level in the Rhaetian Alps. Vineyards live on stone terraces built by people long ago as a way to create platforms that could support agriculture. The stones absorb and retain heat often needed to help the chiavennasca grapes steadily ripen in the high elevation and cold temperature of the Valtellina.
