75% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Canaiolo, 5% Cabernet France
Twelve miles west of Florence in Tuscany’s subzone of Carmignano on land that used to be used for hunting. The current owners purchased it in the early 1900s with the intent of making quality wine and olive oil. They have seen it through the naming of a DOC (& more) and make wines of incredible quality beyond their cost.
Viticulture has existed in this place since Etruscan times.
2017- a long, slow, temperate and balanced vintage.
Vinified in steel tanks and aged in Slavonian oak botti (humongous barrels)…some newer, some older…for approximately 7 months
Eggplant Parmesan (for the win).
