Portugal's region of Bairrada- south of Porto, not far from the sea. Duckman's wines are coming from two main vineyards called Amoreira da Gandara, which is sand-rich, and Ois do Bairro, full of chalky clay soils.
Hand-harvested in early September, sorted in the vineyard, spontaneously co-fermented
Maria Pato is passionate about the terroir and indigenous varieties of her region. She decided not to put a DOC on her labels as she wants them to stand apart for what they are rather than being lumped into an idea of a DOC that, in her opinion, isn't always representative of the potential of Bairrada. Maria works naturally.
